The Vocational Nursing program is designed for those who are new to nursing and looking to get into the high-demand, rewarding field of nursing. As indispensable members of the patient care team, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) communicate with patients, assist in developing care plans, and provide patient care under the supervision of an RN or physician, in a variety of settings such as long-term facilities, acute care facilities, home care, schools, or medical offices/clinics.

Most students choose the VN program at Galen because they are able to start right away and may need more flexibility with our evening program. No matter the program, all students enjoy small classes, early hands-on education and personalized faculty support:

  • No wait list
  • Frequent start dates throughout the year – January, March, July, September
  • Start nursing classes on day one – no need to take general education classes prior
  • Emphasis on hands-on learning earlier than many other schools

Full-time students: attend day classes and complete the program in as few as 12 months

Part-time students: attend evening classes and complete the program in just under two years
