The innovative and flexible design of the Galen BSN permits students to be accepted directly into the nursing program upon acceptance into the College — students are not required to complete general education courses prior to acceptance. The curriculum plan includes general education requirements and allows a student to begin taking nursing courses as soon as he or she has successfully completed the required general education courses.
A benefit to this course design is that it will accommodate students who are new to higher education, while also accommodating students who have completed general education courses or another degree prior to enrolling in the program.
Students will be carefully advised to ensure that they take courses that will allow them to be successful and graduate within the expected timeframe.
This exciting program is designed to be offered via a combination of on-ground and online delivery methods, along with faculty-supervised, hands-on, clinical experiences in a variety of health care settings, along with technology via simulation and an advanced, but user-friendly, learning management system.
Course content progresses from simple to complex, and individual to family to community, culminating in a transition to professional nursing practice course in the final session of the program.
